Rataj Alsulami joined the CCU Laboratory as a Mawhiba student during the summer of 2022. During her time in the lab, she conducted a research project at CCU in collaboration with the IRC-HTCM, investigating a two-step surface modification of graphite electrodes through electrochemical activation and polyaniline electrodeposition for supercapacitor applications. She later moved on to a different kind of supercapacitor, working on engineering a cement electrolyte-based structural supercapacitor integrating steel mesh for simultaneous energy storage and load-bearing performance. Rataj earned national (Aramco, SABIC, SDAIA, STC, RDI, MEWA, MCIT, and Ministry of Industry) and international recognition (Regeneron ISEF) for her project on cement-based structural supercapacitors. She is currently completing an engineering degree at King Abdulaziz University and developing her research profile in advanced materials and devices
